This Week
The calendar may show it is fall, but summer like conditions will continue for at least another week.

Based on the forecasts, this week will include partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies with highs in the low 90s and heat indexes approaching 100°. At 1:00 PM Monday afternoon, several areas were recording heat indexes approaching 105° to 108°

The majority of the region will see limited to no rainfall with only a 20% chance of rain Thursday and Friday. Overall the 7 day forecast is showing less than ¼ inch for Fort Bend County and the entire lower Brazos River Watershed.

The good news is that it appears that the Region could receive it’s first cold front of the season. This means an end to, or at least a break from, summer like weather. Historically, it also means reduced risk of tropical cyclone activity hitting the Texas Coast. We cannot complete rule one out as late season storms have impacted the Texas Coast, but we still welcome the seasons first cold front.
