The Brazos River in Richmond is currently at Gage Elevation 14.19 feet (Below Action Stage). There are no active forecasts issued for the lower Brazos River Watershed (downstream of Waco).

The first couple of days of April appear to be a continuation of the extremely dry March we experienced; however, that will be short lived has we move into the weekend.

Wednesday night into Thursday, we have the potential for a weak cold front approaching the region that could bring some storm activity to isolated parts of the watershed. Overall through Friday, the anticipated precipitation is less than 0.25 inches. The forecasts are showing a minor break from the weather on Friday but favorable conditions could bring a potential rainmaker through southeast Texas over the weekend.

As of Monday morning, the confidence is low on the estimated rainfall. Most forecasts were calling for between 1.0 and 3.0 inches across most of the lower Brazos River Watershed. Some of the forecasts were updated Monday afternoon, and the estimated rainfall dropped to 1.0 to 2.5 inches through next Monday.
